‘HomeSwapper Local’ scheme launched

Pinpoint, Greater Manchester’s Choice Based Lettings Service, has launched ‘HomeSwapper Local’, a scheme to make it easier for more local people to find their ideal home.

‘HomeSwapper Local’ is a new development that will assist people looking to exchange homes within Greater Manchester.

The new system will give tenants the ability to drill down more thoroughly into all areas across Greater Manchester and select which wards they would like to live in. This is an improvement to the current search facility which only allows customers to select a wider area which they are interested in, leading to many potentially suitable matches being missed, or to long lists of options that are not in the desired location.

This new system should assist more people to exchange properties. Registered social landlords are also set to gain as customers are likely to find a suitable property more quickly, reducing void times and waiting lists.

The development went live on 22 July 2013 and all tenants across the region will benefit from it.

Elaine Sherrington, Cabinet Member for Housing at Bolton Council said: “We have been working hard to develop Pinpoint’s Greater Manchester HomeSwapper Local service so that it offers people seeking to swap their home an enhanced degree of choice.  We’re thrilled to announce that the service can now offer local people the option to select their search areas by specific towns or even by estate or proximity to local land marks, as well as offering them the freedom to look further afield.”
