Green bin collections restarting

Bolton council is reminding residents that green bin collections will be restarting from April 4.

Last year, the council made a decision to suspend green bin collections in the winter months, as the tonnage of green waste collected per month falls significantly from around 1500 tonnes in May and June to around 400 tonnes from November to March. To find out when their first green garden waste collection of 2011 will be, residents can check their recycling calendar, call 01204 336632 or visit the recycling pages of the council's website (see link opposite)

Residents who have a large amount of garden waste may want to try home composting. Home composting allows residents to recycle both garden waste and fruit and vegetable peelings and bins are available at a discounted price of £15. For further information please  telephone 0844 571 4444 to order a compost bin.
