Great Lever’s multicultural “Fun Day in the Park” will take place on Saturday July 24, 2010 from 12 noon until 4pm in Heywood Park.
The annual event will be free and open to everyone to enjoy the variety of stalls including information stalls, crafts and attractions, all of which have been lined up to celebrate Great Lever’s vibrant community spirit and cultural diversity.
This year’s celebrations, organised by Great Lever Neighbourhood Management and High Street and Peabody Street Residents Association promise to be enjoyable for all ages with a host of various attractions.
Attractions will include a Bird-of-Prey Display, a “Magic Mark” Show, circus skills displays, a pampering tent, various sporting activities, tombola and raffles all made complete by locally-made food and music from a Samba Band from the Phoenix Drum Project.
Linda Thomas, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Corporate Resources and Health said: “Great Lever’s “Fun Day in the Park” will be an excellent excuse to get outdoors and enjoy the sun and celebrate what makes Great Lever great. We would like to encourage everyone to come along and share in the celebrations.”
