Bolton Council is asking residents to go green by having their council tax bills delivered by email.
Any resident of Bolton who pays council tax can have their bills delivered to a work or home email address and do their bit to help save paper and the environment.
E-billing means that council tax bills will be delivered to residents more quickly, there will be no problems with bills lost in the post, it saves paper and hence helps the environment and stops taxpayers’ money from being spent on print and postage costs.
So far, 1,300 Bolton households have already signed up for e-billing, so anyone who is interested should email their name, address and council tax account reference to the council tax email address with the subject heading ‘e-billing’.
Residents can also go online to pay their council tax or apply to pay by direct debit via the Bolton Council website.
