A pair of eight-foot kangaroos will jump into Bolton town centre this Sunday (May 2).
The massive marsupials, who bounce around on special skipping stilts, have entertained crowds in more than 20 countries around the world.
The Australian-based street theatre company Icarus Performance Troupe is providing the free show. The entertainment has been organised by Bolton Council as part of its weekly programme to draw shoppers into town.
The street act will also coincide with the Mayor’s Mile charity event, taking place from 10am to 3pm.
The kangaroos will perform two 45-minute shows at 10.30am and 12.30pm in and around Victoria Square.
Councillor John Byrne, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, said: “The kangaroos have been a real hit wherever they’ve performed and I think they’ll put a definite spring in the step of town centre shoppers on Sunday!”
