A Bolton mother-of-three has changed her career with the help of the council.
The Business Bolton service has helped Rizwana Adam to retrain and find work which meets her needs. It runs various services to help people get back to work; find training; start their own business; or develop their existing company.
Rizwana used to work as a customer advisor in a bank, but changes to work hours meant she had to leave her position. She wanted to work in schools and after volunteering at her children’s primary school and after being unemployed for several months she had a job interview with Bolton Muslim Girls School.
Business Bolton was able to help her with interview techniques because she didn’t feel confident. Rizwana found the one to one session with her advisor particularly helpful as it prepared her for the interview and identified in-depth answers from the job specification.
The help meant she secured the position and now she covers lessons, supports girls at the school with various issues, and plans and researches projects. It’s the first step for Rizwana to train as a teacher.
