Are you looking for something different to do with the kids during this summer holiday?

Join Recycle for Greater Manchester (R4GM) for a tour of the Thermal Recovery facility on Raikes Lane, Bolton.  The facility turns Bolton’s grey bin waste into enough electricity to power up to 14,000 homes.

On the tour you’ll get to see inside a furnace which reaches temperatures of over 850°C, a 200 foot chimney repaired by local steeplejack and TV personality; Fred Dibnah AND a generator which spins 6,900 times a minute!

If that’s not enough, there will be fun interactive recycling activities in our purpose built education centre, free lunch and lots of giveaways to help you recycle more.

Family Open Days run from 10am-2pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday 28th July
  • Thursday 4th August
  • Thursday 11th August
  • Thursday 18th August
  • Thursday 25th August

Booking is essential. To book your FREE place (minimum age of visitors 7 years old) contact the Recycle for Greater Manchester team on: 01204 374 222 or email education@recycleforgreatermanchester.com
