Bolton Central Library will become the hub of the new network

Bolton’s first library neighbourhood collection point opened to the public on Monday, January 16.

The neighbourhood collection service at Highfield (The Orchards) is set up in the foyer of The Orchards building, which is also home to a children’s centre and school.

The new-style service replaces Highfield Library and people can borrow books in the same way using a self-service machine.

There are also computers set up in the foyer offering internet access.

The neighbourhood collection will be open to the public during the children’s centre opening hours and people can return books to any library in the borough.

Any special requests for books that aren’t on display can be made as normal via the library ordering service.

Ordered books can be delivered to the neighbourhood collection or any other library in the borough.
