A host of free activities are on offer in Bolton town centre on Saturday, April 19.
An egg hunt, street entertainment, a mini train and craft activities are just some of the treats that Bolton Council, in partnership with Market Place Shopping Centre, has organised to draw visitors into town.
Chocolate lovers of all ages can join a free egg hunt starting at Bolton Market, from 10am to win a giant 15kg Slattery’s chocolate egg. The first 1000 entrants will also receive a goody bag. Forms can be collected from Bolton Market’s lifestyle hall or first floor, Market Place on the day.
Egg hunters have to follow the clues and head to shops around the town centre to locate 18 giant letters which spell out an Easter themed word. Completed forms can be returned to the Market Place and a winner will be drawn.
From 10am to 4pm Victoria Square will be filled with activities. Children can hop on board an Easter ‘Eggspress’ Train and meet the Easter Bunny and Eggwina the chick.
Dr Zoolittle will also be there with a mini zoo of fabulous creatures including chicks, bunny rabbits, meercats and snakes.
Children can meet popular TV character Shaun the Sheep who will be making half-hour appearances at the Market Place at 11am and 3pm, Victoria Square at noon, Bolton Market at 1pm and on the Easter Eggspress train at 2pm.
Free Easter-themed craft activities will also be taking place in Bolton Market’s lifestyle hall from 10am to 4pm.
