13 year old Bradley Lewarne of Sutton Road, Bolton is the winner of a World Cup-themed competition organised by Bolton Council in conjunction with Bolton Wanderers and the Bolton News to find a new poster slogan for a marketing campaign.
The competition asked residents to come up with slogans for its latest series of posters to be displayed all over the borough.
The football-themed posters centre around children playing football and show the potential health risks to children if owners don’t pick up their dog’s mess. They are aimed at persuading owners to clean up after their dogs.
Bradley came up with the slogan ‘No fouling in the box; penalty awarded’ and his slogan will now be used in the posters which will be displayed all around Bolton.
Bradley has also scored himself a full England kit and two tickets to the Bolton Wanderers game of his choice.
Cllr Sufrana Bashir-Ismail, Executive Member for Cleaner, Greener, Safer, said:
“Dog fouling is an area of serious concern for residents and the council receives over 500 complaints a year about the issue. Thanks to Bradley for coming up with such as great slogan and we hope that these posters will make people think twice and take responsibility for their own dog waste.”
