Day and night celebrations for books

01/03/11

Book lovers in Bolton are encouraged to get involved in World Book Day this March.

The day itself takes place on Thursday, March 3, and will be followed by the launch of World Book Night on Saturday, March 5.

As part of the celebrations, national organisers have selected a list of 25 fantastic titles and are asking people to give away their favourite to create the biggest book giveaway possible.

In Bolton, the Central Library is inviting keen readers to attend a coffee morning on World Book Day to discuss and share thoughts on the top 25 books selected.

Anyone who has read one of the titles or who would like to learn more about them before borrowing one from the library can attend the event in the library’s fiction area from 10.30am to 11.30am on Thursday, March 3.

Young readers are invited to the Children’s Library, in Le Mans Crescent, on Saturday, March 5 to enjoy stories from around the world, Wii games and the chance to make a mask inspired by the popular children’s book, The Gruffalo.

Everyone is invited to join in the fun and dress up as their favourite book character between 2pm and 4pm.
