Tickets to see celebrity chefs in action at this year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival are going on sale today (Friday, June 17).
A four-day foodie spectacular is on the menu from Friday, August 26 to Monday, August 29.
Fans of chefs James Martin, Gino D’Acampo and the Hairy Bikers Si King and Dave Myers can all book a seat to ensure they get a slice of the action.
And this year a bigger marquee that can seat up to 300 people will take centre stage on Victoria Square for the cookery demonstrations, after many foodies were left disappointed last year due to the shows selling out.
The Hairy Bikers will come to Bolton on Saturday, August 27, Italian chef Gino D’Acampo will entertain crowds on Sunday, August 28 and Yorkshire chef James Martin will cook on the final day.
All demonstrations will take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and the shows last for 40 minutes. Tickets cost £5.
Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines will open this year’s festival on Friday, August 26. He will be doing two demonstrations at 12.30pm and 2pm. There is no charge for these shows.
The festival, which last year pulled in an estimated 75,000 visitors, has been organised by Bolton Council.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, said: "The festival is growing year on year, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country.
“We have a fantastic line-up of chefs who all bring something slightly different to the festival. They’ve all had a great reception when they’ve visited previously and all of them are looking forward to coming back. We don’t want people to be disappointed so I’d advise everyone to reserve their seats early.”
Local, regional, and specialist traders will entice shoppers with a range of food, drinks and craft products at the speciality market that will take over Victoria Square and surrounding streets.
Tickets for all events can be purchased from the Albert Halls box office on 01204 334400. Tickets can also be purchased online via the food and drink festival website.
