Bolton's Festive Market

Come along and browse stalls full of fresh produce and continental treats, sample and savour hot tasty food and a Gluhwein from the Bierkeller plus enjoy great family friendly seasonal activities and entertainment.

Continental traders will be open for business from Friday 10 December and will be serving hot European food and drink. The market starts Wednesday 15 December, for more information, click on the link on the right hand side.

Win with Central Bolton this Christmas

This Christmas, the Central Bolton Partnership is offering a host of great prizes.

Visitors to the Festive Market can enter a prize draw to win one of many prizes including a £50 Crompton Place Shopping Centre, a £50 M&S voucher, a personal shopper experience and makeover at Debenhams or tickets to a show at the Octagon Theatre.

To enter, pick up a postcard and drop it into one of the prize draw boxes at the Festive Market.

Santa's Express

Local children will be able to visit Santa in his grotto at Moss Bank Park on December 11 and 12.

Visitors to the park will be able to board Santa's Express miniature railway for a ride to visit Santa as he finishes making presents in his Toyland workshop.

Twelve Days of Christmas with Bolton Market

Come to Bolton Market from Thursday 2 to Tuesday 21 December to enter a free daily prize draw, in association with Costco Wholesale, and you could grab yourself some fantastic gifts just in time for Christmas.

  • Closed Saturday 25 to Wednesday 29 December
  • New Year week open Thursday 30 and Friday 31 December, 9am to 5pm
  • Closed Saturday 1 to Monday 3 January 2011, open as usual from Tuesday 4 January 2011

Festive fun in Leverhulme

Children aged five to 11 can learn to ride their new Christmas bikes on the outdoor track at Leverhulme Community Leisure Centre between Christmas and New Year. For more information, click on the link on the right hand side.

Waste and recycling

There will be no scheduled changes to waste and recycling collections during the Christmas and New Year period. Residents should ensure that bins are at the edge of their property between 7.30am and 6pm on collection days, including bank holidays. The bin lids must be closed and we cannot collect any extra bags.

Green bin collections will not take place throughout December to March 2011. Check the recycling calendar to find out when collections will restart.

Recycling Christmas trees

Real Christmas trees can be collected and recycled for a £5 fee. Please call 01204 336632 before Friday 7 January 2011 to arrange collection. Alternatively, trees can be recycled free of charge at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre.
