Children's Library fun day

Bolton's Children’s Library is holding a family fun day on Saturday, February 20 to celebrate its refurbishment.

Improvements include an under fives’ area with picture book tunnels; a children’s area with reading hideaway and a teenagers’ space with computers and funky sofas.

The library is now brighter, more family-friendly and modern, with lots of space to relax while checking out the latest books or using the computers.

Previously, the library catered for young people up to 11 years old. However, stock is now aimed at young people aged up to 16 years old.

To celebrate the new-look library, a family fun day will be held on Saturday, February 20 between 11am and 3pm.

Children’s author, Leighroy Marsh, who wrote The Hairy Plug Monster will be around at 12.30pm to read excerpts from his book to children.

And at 1.30pm, local band Push to Flip will perform an acoustic set.

There will also be colouring and craft opportunities and a quiz throughout the day.
