Championsheeps flock to Bolton this Easter

On Bank Holiday Monday, April 1, Victoria Square will be transformed into a Championsheeps Live event, featuring TV favourite Shaun the Sheep.

The family themed ‘sports day’ kicks off with challenges that will have everyone hopping, bouncing, and rolling around a farmyard scene in the town centre.

From 11am to 4pm there will be a family themed ‘sports day’, including challenges like cabbage keepie uppie which is based on traditional football skills – but with cabbages.

There will also be a flock and roll event which involves a giant Shirley the sheep being rolled around a maze and there’s a Shirley’s Pie-athlon that involves bouncing through a food obstacle course on Sheep space hoppers whilst carrying cake. .

The event has featured around the country, including Cornwall’s Eden Project where it drew 40,000 visitors.

Councillor Cliff Morris, Leader of Bolton Council said: “Easter is a time for families to come together and look forward to the brighter days ahead.

“Every year we put on a great range of events throughout the year which encourages people to come to Bolton and I’m sure the Championsheeps will be popular with families.”
