A community festival is taking place in Bromley Cross for the first time, which is aimed at bringing the local community and families together.
The Bromley Cross Summer Fayre will take place on Saturday May 21 at the Last Drop Village from 11am to 5pm.
The summer fayre will be officially opened at 11.30 by Graham and James Edginton, the father and son duo from Britain’s Got Talent who will perform a selection of their songs.
The event will include a vibrant mix of activities such as birds of prey, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, face painting, tombolas, a lifeboat, 'beat the goalie' competition, pottery decoration stall, art exhibition, photography competition, charity stalls and Zumba classes.
There will also be entertainment from local folk singing and dancing groups and local primary and secondary schools, as well as Bolton FM.
There will be a park and ride available all day from Turton Leisure Centre and Bromley Cross Library to the Last Drop Village.
The festival has been funded and organised by Bromley Cross Area Forum, with contributions from Mercure Last Drop Village and Hotel.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Corporate Resources and Health, Councillor Linda Thomas, said: “This fayre is a great idea, which will help communities unite together for a day of fun activities and be an interesting and educational experience. The festival is free to everyone, so we’d like to encourage as many people to come along as possible.”
