An old-fashioned Victorian style carousel is taking centre stage in Bolton town centre tomorrow (December 8).
The golden-coloured roundabout has toured the UK with recent locations like London’s Covent Garden, and is now making its very first appearance in the north west.
The ride is all part of Bolton Council’s festive programme to encourage shoppers into the town centre in the run-up to Christmas.
The carousel features 24 brightly coloured horses and two carriages. It will be situated in Victoria Square until December 22. The ride is open everyday from 10am until 6pm and rides cost £2.
James Cox, ride owner, said: “We haven’t been to the north west before and we’re looking forward to coming to Bolton. It’s a beautiful ride and both children and adults will love it.”
Councillor John Byrne, Executive Member of Development and Regeneration, added: "The carousel will be a really colourful addition to our traditional festive programme and I'm sure it will bring joy to all those who try it out."
