Caped crusaders on a quest for equality will be promoting Bolton’s diverse communities this Saturday, August 29 at the annual Manchester Pride Parade.
More than 30 volunteers will represent Bolton Council and its partners on the colourful parade, which has a theme of heroes this year.
The parade will start in Manchester at 1pm and will weave its way through Deansgate, Princess Street and Whitworth Street.
The partners supporting the event are NHS Bolton, Bolton Community and Voluntary Services, Bolton Equality Council, Bolton LGBT Youth Group and Bolton at Home.
Councillor Rosa Kay, Executive Member for Human Resources, Organisational Development and Diversity said: “Our participation in the parade highlights Bolton’s commitment to community cohesion.
“I would encourage residents to come along to support the Bolton team on this great day and celebrate Bolton’s diverse lifestyles.”
Manchester Pride is a 10-day programme of entertainment, art, sport, debate and heritage all in celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life.
