A scheme to improve Bury New Road starts on Saturday, December 13.
The £276,000 work is part of the council’s planned borough-wide road maintenance programme.
Bury New Road will be resurfaced from its junction with Castle Street to its junction with Bradford Street.
The work is expected to take two weeks to complete subject to weather conditions. In an effort to minimise disruption and to keep traffic moving during the festive period, the majority of the resurfacing work will take place during off peak hours.
Bury New Road will remain open throughout the work but at certain times it will be necessary to use temporary traffic signals and lane closures may be in place.
The council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to residents and road users.
Residents and businesses will be able to access their properties during the works and have been informed of the plans.
For more information telephone the council’s customer helpline on 01204 336677.
