Tourism experts paid a visit to Bolton to pass on free expert advice to local businesses.
More than 50 organisations in the tourism and hospitality industry attended the summit, which was held in partnership with Visit Manchester.
The free event was chaired by Managing Director, Visit Manchester Paul Simpson and took place in the Albert Halls, Bolton Town Hall.
The event was open to anyone involved in the many sectors of the hospitality industry. Those who attended picked up advice and useful tips from key business speakers, including Elias Moubayed from the Tourism Network and James Berresford, Chief Executive at Visit England.
Areas which were discussed were the current trends in customer internet behaviour, ideas on how to retain your customers through excellent customer service, developing and getting involved in your local tourism strategy and the new strategic framework for tourism in England.
Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, said: “The summit was a great opportunity for the many businesses in Bolton which are engaged with the hospitality industry. What better way for businesses to learn about promoting themselves than first-hand from the industry experts?”
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, the tourist board for the Manchester city-region, added: “It is important for businesses across Bolton to know how best they can benefit from the industry. The summit was a fantastic opportunity for them to hear about best practice within social media and customer service as well as understanding what is happening nationally. We were very happy to support it."
