Resurfacing works at the junction of Blackhorse Street and Trinity Street will be undertaken from 7.30am to 10.30pm on Sundays June 30, July 7, 14 and 21.
Bolton Council is conducting resurfacing works to complete the £2.5 million Blackhorse Street road improvement scheme to open the road to two-way traffic which will ease congestion and allow better access to the south of the town centre.
Trinity Street will remain open but delays are expected and motorists are asked to find alternative routes where possible.
Every effort has been made to minimise disruption and motorists will still be able to gain access to Trinity Retail Park, Sainsburys and Morrisons stores.
Diversions will be in place and traffic for Morrisions will be routed from Trinity Street around to Great Moor Street so as to access the main car park entrance.
Councillor David Chadwick, Bolton Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways said: “The road improvements are an essential part of reducing congestion and speeding up traffic flow in this busy part of town. While every effort has been made to reduce disruption during the works I would like to thank motorists for their patience.”
