Dubbed the “Best Big Band in the Land”, Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra is making a welcome return to Bolton.
Their new show, On the Beat, will feature at The Albert Halls on Sunday, February 6 at 7.30pm.
An established favourite with audiences up and down the country, the orchestra’s new show promises to be bold, zippy and exuberant.
Led by Chris Dean, the orchestra recreates the big band sound of the mid-20th century, featuring the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many more.
The Syd Lawrence Orchestra was founded by trumpeter Syd Lawrence in 1967 and Chris Dean took over as director in 1996 following Syd’s retirement.
The orchestra has a repertoire of more than 1,200 classic big band titles, all delivered with enthusiasm and energy by a host of talented musicians.
Lovers of music should not miss the opportunity to see this show.
Tickets for On the Beat are priced £17 and £15.50 for concessions, available from The Albert Halls website and box office on 01204 334400.
