Shoppers can look forward to double the fun in Bolton this weekend.
Bolton Council has organised not one but two town centre acts which will entertain visitors on Saturday, February 26.
Energetic junk percussion duo, Bang On!, will take to the stage first with their huge homemade drum kit made from recycled objects.
Drummers Katie Stephenson and Dave Smith use dustbin lids, water drums and scaffolding poles to create an unbeatable sound of funky beats and rhythmic treats.
A hit on Britain’s Got Talent in 2008 and a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2007, Bang On! will perform four 20-minute shows in Victoria Square from noon to 3pm.
Also performing on Saturday will be Bolton-based Insyt Media Productions, showcasing their musical talents.
The Big Lottery funded group runs workshops in DJ and MC skills for young people to help reduce anti-social behaviour.
They will also perform four shows at various times during the day.
Following the success of town centre Saturday entertainment over the last two years, Bolton Council has organised a variety of acts over the next few months to boost town centre footfall and trade.
Bang On! and Insyt Media Productions are the latest in a long line of free performances that the council has lined up to draw shoppers in to town.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, said: “Bang On! are sure to draw in the crowds with their creative drumming and high energy performance, while DJ and MC skills always prove popular among the young people in the town.
“If you fancy some free, family-friendly entertainment on Saturday, then the events on Victoria Square will not disappoint.”
