Bolton Wanderers Community Trust has signed up to the One Bolton pledge to support the concept of Bolton as a welcoming town.
The Community Trust is a charity affiliated to and supported by Bolton Wanderers Football Club that provides sporting, health and educational activities which benefit more than 67,000 people per year, working with more than 150 schools and providing in excess of 5,000 hours of community work annually.
The One Bolton pledge celebrates the diversity of the town and states: “We celebrate the diversity of Bolton and unite to create One Bolton, recognising differences, celebrating communities and commit to encouraging harmony.”
The pledge is directly linked to the Big Bolton Fund (BBF) and encourages supporters of One Bolton to pledge money to the fund, which in turn will be used to support local community programmes across the borough.
Phil Gartside, Chairman of the Trustees at Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, said: “One Bolton is a great initiative that aims to bring the community together and the Trust is proud to support this aim and to work alongside the council to develop community cohesion in all parts of Bolton.”
The pledge can be signed online at www.bolton.gov.uk/onebolton.
