Authors talk romance and history

Romance and history will be the themes for two author events at Bolton libraries.

Popular romantic novel writer Erica James will discuss her latest book, It’s The Little Things, on Tuesday, September 8 from 6.15pm to 7.15pm at Bolton Central Library.

Erica is the author of several best-selling novels and was shortlisted for Romantic Novel of the Year four times before winning in 2006 with Gardens of Delight.

Her titles include Airs and Graces, Act of Faith, Precious Time and Love and Devotion.

Bolton author Andrea Finney will talk about her debut book, 344: A Story of the Pretoria Pit Disaster – Inspired by a Mother’s Tale, at Westhoughton Library on Tuesday, September 22.

The Pretoria Pit disaster, in Westhoughton, was the worst coal mining accident to have occurred in Lancashire and 2010 marks the centenary of this tragic moment in history when 344 men and boys lost their lives.

Andrea’s book is based on the diary of her great, great grandmother Elizabeth Gore who lost her son in the accident on December 21, 1910.

The writer will be at Westhoughton Library from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Both events are free of charge but tickets must be reserved in advance. Contact Bolton Library on 01204 333173 for Erica James and Westhoughton Library on 01942 634640 for Andrea Finney.
