Artists' chance for exhibition 

Artists can enter a competition, which would see their work exhibited in Bolton Museum

Bolton Museum are inviting artists to submit work for the fourth Bolton Open Art exhibition.

Entries can include wall-mounted work such as paintings, printings, photography and free standing work such as sculptures, ceramics and glass.

Four prizes are up for grabs: the winner will receive £500; second prize is £200; the third placed entrant will be given £100; while a Visitors’ Choice award will be chosen by the public voting at the museum, which will be awarded at the end of the exhibition.

The competition is open to people aged 16 or over who currently live or work in the borough and a maximum of two works can be submitted.

All work entered must be original and produced within the last 3 years.

Entries cost £5 and to enter complete an entry form which has all the details of how to take part.

Entry forms are available on the museum website, from the museum and central library or call 01204 332211. Deadline for entries is 5pm, Saturday, November 5.

The free exhibition will run from Saturday, November 19 to Saturday, January 7, 2012.

The awards have been sponsored by Bolton at Home, University of Bolton and Marks and Spencer.
