The next round of area forums gets underway next week.
Attendance at this year’s area forums has been on the increase, with 86 per cent more residents attending, in comparison to this time last year.
People across all ages have become more aware of how much forums can do for them, by getting involved and making a difference to their community.
At a recent Astley Bridge forum, 95 people, including 32 young people came along to celebrate the relaunch of Barlow Park youth facilities and to find out further information about their area.
With the proposed Tesco development on Longcauseway, Farnworth 143 residents attended the Kearsley area forum to find out more about this plan.
Also, Breightmet forum’s attendance figures have more than doubled since the start of this year as residents have come together to discuss library facilities and neighbourhood management in the area.
Area forums provide an opportunity to meet ward councillors, discuss local issues and influence how money is spent in the area.
