Opening times

Christmas and New Year are coming and council staff in our one-stop shops and contact centre will be available around the key days to help and advise as usual. The full list of opening times are available below. Keep checking this page for further information.

The opening hours for each office are as follows:

Access Bolton One Stop Shop

Open:

  • Monday 24 December 9am-4pm;
  • Thursday 27 and Friday 28 December 9am-5pm      
  • Monday 31 December 9am-4pm

Closed: Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 and Saturday 29 December and Tuesday 1 January 2013

Farnworth and Westhoughton

Open:

  • Monday 24 December 9am-4pm;
  • Thursday 27 and Friday 28 December 9am-5pm      
  • Monday 31 December 9am-4pm

Closed: Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 December, and Tuesday 1 January 2013

Horwich Library

Open:

  • Monday 24 December 9am-4pm
  • Thursday 27 December 9am-5pm (closed 12.30pm-1.30pm)

Christmas and New Year waste and recycling collections

This year, waste and recycling collections that are due to take place on:

  • Tuesday 25 December will be carried out on Saturday 29 December
  • Wednesday 26 December will be carried out on Sunday 30 December
  • Tuesday 1 January 2013 will be carried out on Saturday 5 January

Collections will return to normal on Wednesday 2 January 2013. There are no changes to any other collections days during the festive period.

Recycle your Christmas tree

This year, Bolton Council is working in partnership with Bolton Community Transport Furniture to recycle real Christmas trees. For a minimum charge of £9, Bolton Community Transport Furniture Services will arrange to have your tree collected and recycled. Call 01204 364777 before Wednesday 9 January 2013 to arrange your collection.

Alternatively, Christmas trees can be recycled free of charge at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre. To find out where your nearest centre is and for opening times over the festive season, visit the recycleforgreatermanchester website.
