Shared care for children

Bolton Shared Care

Part of BRIDGES, short breaks and family support service for disabled children and their families

Bringing up children requires time, patience and energy.  Most parents welcome some time to themselves, whether it’s to have an evening out, a short holiday or just a couple of hours ‘peace and quiet’.  Equally, most children enjoy time away from their family, and opportunities to make new friends and enjoy new experiences.  Disabled children are no different.

Bolton Shared Care recruits, trains, and supports people who can share some of their time with a disabled child or young person (up to 18) to enable this to happen.  We offer a sitting and befriending service and place children for day care or overnight breaks with approved short break carers.

We support disabled young people with all sorts of interests and support needs and recruit a variety of people to meet those needs.  If you are over 18, enjoy being around young people and can make a regular commitment find out more by looking at our link ‘Give a little time, make a BIG difference’

If you are a parent with a disabled son or daughter and want to know what we might be able to offer you and your child click on the ‘Information for Parents’ related page.
