Schools – emergency planning and temporary school closure

Asset Management and Planning Unit (AMU) in Children’s Services can provide assistance to schools in the event of a critical incident or with more minor problems, such as short term closure due to electrical failure.  The Unit should be informed of any closures and will circulate this information to all others who need to know.

Corporate Property Services (CPS) deals with emergencies such as a power or heating failure or a fire at a school.  Help can be requested on:
01204 331234  office hours
01204 336900  outside office hours

Comprehensive guidance has been produced on how to deal with a critical incident in school.  Each school should have its own Emergency Plan ready to implement immediately should the need ever arise.  A model plan template can be found within the Critical Incidents in Schools guidance document by following the link to the right.

In the event of a critical incident where you want co-ordinated support from the Authority, ring the CRISIS LINE on:
01204 332240  office hours
01204 336900  outside office hours
