Asset Management and Planning Unit (AMU) in Children’s Services can provide assistance to schools in the event of a critical incident or with more minor problems, such as short term closure due to electrical failure. The Unit should be informed of any closures and will circulate this information to all others who need to know.

Comprehensive guidance has been produced on how to deal with a critical incident in school. Each school should have its own Emergency Plan ready to implement immediately should the need ever arise.
