Streetcare

Although Bolton Council inspects the borough's highways at regular intervals, we still rely on members of the public bringing to our attention possible hazards on the roads of Bolton.

Streetcare is a service provided by the Council so that members of the public can have direct contact with the Highways department.

Streetcare can be contacted by:

Highway Inspections

The Council in complying with its duty to maintain its highways as outlined within Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980 and for the purpose of Section 58 of the same, which provides for special defence, undertakes cyclic highway safety inspections of all its adopted highways.

Safety inspections are carried out to specified frequences, dependant upon the status of each highway. During the inspection defects which are at or exceed the minimum intervention levels as outlined within the code of practice, are identified and processed for repair.
