The Centre is an extension built onto Leverhulme Park Community Club, a Sports England Build on Leverhulme Park.  The Leverhulme Childrens reach area covers parts of Breightmet, Tonge Fold, Darcy Lever and Great Lever (Burnden)

What services can parents and children access at the centre?

The centre offers a range of integrated services for families with children under the age of five years.  These services are referred to as the ‘core offer’ and include:

  • Antenatal /postnatal care
  • Health services
  • Links to Job Centre Plus
  • Education and childcare
  • Family Support
  • Information on a wide range of services

Does the centre have a nursery on site?

There is no on site nursery provision but full daycare is provided in partnership with a local private nursery provider, St Osmond’s Community Nursery, based on Falkirk Drive.

St Osmund’s Community Nursery .was judged as ‘Good’ by OFSTED in February 2009.

Are there any other services available at the centre that parents can access?

The children’s centre health room is accommodated within the physiotherapy suite.

The community centre is open 6.30am – 9.30pm, seven days a week and hosts a running track, gym, dance/activity studio, meeting rooms and a physiotherapy suite. Outdoor and indoor running track, changing facilities and an education unit is included. Out of school club and holiday club have dedicated rooms in the community centre.

Antenatal / postnatal services are provided by community midwives in addition to a weekly well baby clinic.  Local childminders have a weekly drop in at the centre.

The centre promotes healthy lifestyles for the local community and has a community café offering drinks and light snacks.
