The revised Westbrook Gateway Development Brief was recently approved as a Statement of Council Policy on 25th January 2011. The brief has been prepared to guide the redevelopment of land bounded by Manchester Road, Grosvenor Street, the valley of the River Croal and Lower Bridgeman Street.
The breif has been revised to reflect current market conditions. The Development Brief provides design guidance for the redevelopment of the area and expands on policies in the Bolton Unitary Development Plan (UDP) (2005) - reference should be made to the Local Development Framework (LDF) from March 2011 as this will supercede the UDP from that date. Both the UDP and the LDF provide guidance on the planning policies relating to this site, the factors that will constrain any development and the appropriate mix of uses.
