Countryside Events
Many events take place in our Country Parks throughout the year, please see the Bolton Life link for event information.
Which Event?
Our events are open to people of all abilities. Some of them are marked as a guide for particular suitability.
- Wheelchair and pushchair users - these events are suitable for everyone, including those who use wheelchairs, pushchairs or have some difficulty walking.
- Families – these events are ideal for families and children.
- Booking essential – places for these events are limited and must be booked by calling Rock Hall
- Pre-school children – these events are particularly aimed at pre-school children and their carers.
- Dogs on a lead – dogs are welcome on these events only, but must be under control and on a lead.
- Walks are graded according to length and difficulty.
- Short walks are between 1 and 3 miles
- Medium walks are between 3 and 7 miles
- Long walks are over 8 miles
- Some walks may be difficult in places

Whether the weather
A Ranger will be at the meeting point for the event, whatever the weather. In the case of extreme weather conditions, a decision will be taken then to continue or cancel.
What to Wear
Many of our events will be taking place outside – please remember to dress for the occasion. Wear warm / waterproof clothing where necessary and stout shoes.
