The Arts Development team support local community organisations and arts professionals to encourage more arts and creative opportunities across Bolton. Our Arts Strategy outlines our main aim: "to be an advocate for the arts and to achieve community pride, social cohesion and inclusion through the arts."
Amongst other things, the team can provide information on how to get involved in local arts activities, where to find community arts organisations, artists and arts venues, and how to access arts funding for a project or event.
We work across all genres, including visual arts and crafts, performing arts, contemporary music and poetry, broadcast, film and digital. The team also provide expertise in the areas of arts and health, creative industries, events management and diversity in arts.
Our team are involved in a number of ongoing initiatives and projects, such as the Greater Manchester Arts and Health network, STRIDE young men's dance, Arts Awards, The Culture Connection cultural education, The Nerve Centre website for arts and creative industries in Bolton, and All About Us digital arts project for the cultural olympiad.
