Programme of rides 2008

Discover freedom, adventure, and the open road and see some of Bolton’s finest countryside scenery from the comfort of two wheels.

From April 2008 and throughout the summer, volunteer leaders from Bolton Clarion, Lancashire Road and Horwich cycling clubs would like to invite you on their range of open-to-all taster cycle rides.

The rides have been designed specifically with beginners in mind, so whatever your age or fitness level there will be a ride to suit you, it’s easier than you think.

The rides will start with short flat routes, using quiet country roads, taking in some of Bolton’s finest scenery including moor land, reservoirs and hills with breath taking views. What’s more we always try to include a nice café stop along the way! As the programme progresses it aims to increase your ability and confidence with the opportunity to move on to longer and slightly more challenging rides. In the long term, the programme should build your ability to undertake longer rides on your own or in the company of other cyclists.

Cycling is a fun and healthy way to exercise and there’s plenty of opportunity to meet like minded people or just simply admire the views. So go on, get on yer bike!
